Train services to Badulla have been disrupted due to a rockfall between Idalgashinna and Ohiya stations along the upcountry line. Following the rockfall, the night mail train from Badulla to Colombo derailed near Tunnel No. 33 between Idalgashinna and Ohiya at around 10.30 p.m. yesterday (18). The train, which departed Badulla at 6.05 p.m., was operating with two engines. The front engine collided with the rocks that had fallen onto the track which resulted in the derailment, according to Ada Derana reporter.
