Disabled war heroes stage protest…

March 19, 2026

Members of the Disabled War Heroes’ Welfare Association and other related associations, together with the Police War Heroes Community, staged a protest march today (19) from in front of Fort Railway Station to the President’s Office to deliver a message.

The demonstration called for the immediate completion of long-pending activities, highlighting that, even after nearly 17 years since the end of the war, authorities have continued to restrict the privileges granted to them by the governments and address the requests and proposals of those who sacrificed their lives or were injured while serving in the Sri Lanka Police during the 30-year conflict.
