The Presidential candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), Namal Rajapaksa says that he always implements principled politics.

He points out that his party has introduced a proper program for the nation’s progress.

Namal Rajapaksa expressed these views while attending a public rally held in the Mutur area.

“We are a principled political party. Back then it was President Mahinda Rajapaksa who provided the people of the East with the right to live. The elders were trapped by the terror of the LTTE and lived with no hope for the future,” he said.

He further noted that Trincomalee and Seruwawila are now becoming important naval and aviation hubs.

“On the other hand, this area was developed as a tourist centre in the Eastern Province where tourism is given priority.”

Rajapaksa also outlined his aim to transform Trincomalee into a major hub for cruise ship tourism.

“We had a plan. In a government led by me, I will be centralizing the tourism industry and Trincomalee harbour, and Trincomalee will be transformed a major hub that brings in cruise ships. “

He further added that while protecting the cultures, a government led by him will make the necessary policy decisions to build a future that young people expect to see.
