Two dead as train collides with three-wheeler at Ratgama

Two individuals have reportedly died after a train travelling from Maradana to Beliatta had collided with a three-wheeler at the Wijeratne Mawatha railway crossing in Ratgama this morning (13).

Police said one person was killed on the spot following the accident while another person who sustained critical injuries had succumbed to injuries after being admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital.

The deceased, who are travelling in the three wheeler, are residents of Dodanduwa, aged between 45 years to 55 years.

The body of the deceased who was killed on the spot following the collision has been handed over to the Boossa Railway Station and Ratgama Police is conducting further investigation into the incident.
