EC receives over 3,800 complaints ahead of Presidential Election

The Election Commission reported that a total of 3,828 complaints have been received thus far in relation to the presidential election.

In a statement, the commission noted that 3,720 these complaints were received related to violations of election laws, and 28 complaints related to acts of violence were reported.

The Chairman of the Election Commission R.M.A.L. Rathnayake said that there is a slight increase in the number of complaints received in relation to the presidential election this year.

Meanwhile, Police Spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa reported that the police have received 350 complaints regarding the election.
