Smartphone and accessories discovered in prison cells of ‘Ganemulla Sanjeewa’ and ‘Wele Suda’

The Police Special Task Force (STF) has uncovered a smartphone and several mobile phone accessories hidden in the cells of notorious organized criminals and drug traffickers, “Ganemulla Sanjeewa” and “Wele Suda” inside the Boossa Prison.

Acting on intelligence received by STF officers stationed at the Boossa Prison, an emergency search operation was conducted yesterday (13) in several cells located in the special section of the prison’s A block. 

During the operation, officers have discovered a smartphone concealed behind the cell where Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne alias “Ganemulla Sanjeewa”, is being held.

In a separate cell, multiple mobile phone accessories have been found hidden behind the cell walls where Samantha Kumara, alias “Wele Suda”, is detained.

The STF confirmed that the confiscated phone and related items have been handed over to prison authorities for further investigation.
