22 year-old female arrested over murder in Weliweriya

Police have arrested a female suspect wanted for the murder of a 58-year-old woman in Embaraluwa South, Weliweriya.
The arrest was made following an investigation into the murder, which took place in September, by the Weliweriya Police.
The arrested woman, the second suspect in the murder, had fled the area after the incident but was apprehended yesterday in the Balummahara area.
During her arrest, officers also found 5 grams and 600 milligrams of ‘Ice’ (crystal methamphetamine) in her possession.
Weliweriya Police stated that the arrested suspect is a 22-year-old resident of Kalubowitiyana.
