Trincomalee District preferential vote results

The preferential vote results of the Trincomalee District in the 2024 General Election have been released.

NPP’s Arun Hemachandra has polled the highest number of preferential votes in the Trincomalee District. 

Imran Maharoof has obtained the highest number of preferential votes for the SJB and secures the only parliamentary seat for the party in the district, while ITAK’s Shanmugam Kugathasan also secured a single seat for the party.

 

National People’s Power (NPP)

1. Arun Hemachandra - 38,368

2. Roshan Akmeemana - 25,814

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB)

1. Imran Maharoof - 22,779

Ilankai Thamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK)

1. Shanmugam Kugathasan - 18,470
