Motorcycle pillion rider killed in collision with a train

A pillion rider traveling on a motorcycle has been killed yesterday (15) when the Udaya Devi Express Train, en route from Batticaloa to Colombo Fort, collided with the motorcycle at Bellankadawala in the Habarana Police Division.

The deceased has been identified as a 69-year-old resident of Kinihirigama, Kekirawa.

Meanwhile, the motorcycle rider, who sustained serious injuries, has been admitted to Dambulla Base Hospital for treatment.

Habarana Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
