Special train services for commuters returning to Colombo

The Department of Railways has announced that special train services will be in operation today (17) and tomorrow (18), for the commuters returning to work after the 2024 General Election leave and the long weekend.

The department said that special trains have been added to the service on these two days in addition to the regular scheduled train services.

Accordingly, 7 special trains will be operated covering routes from Colombo Fort to Badulla, from Badulla to Colombo Fort, from Kandy to Colombo Fort and from Beliatta to Colombo Fort.

The Department of Railways also stated that special train services will be operational from Colombo Fort to Hikkaduwa, Matara to Colombo Fort, and Galle to Colombo Fort during this period.
