More Colombo schools close for LG polls

March 15, 2011   08:40 pm

St. Bridget’s Convent in Colombo 7, St. Joseph’s College in Colombo 10 and St. Peter’s College in Bambalapitiya too will remain closed on March 16, 17 and 18 due to the Local Government polls.

Earlier, the Secretary to the Ministry of Education had announced that all government schools except those in the Jaffna and Killinochchi Districts will be closed for three days from March 16. However most privately run schools had not announced the closure and these three schools have announced that they too would follow the government directive.
