New laws implemented for Moped owners

All road and vehicle laws pertaining to motorbikes will also be applied to mopeds from today (April 1) as moped riders will be required to wear helmets, possess valid insurance and a revenue license as well as a motorbike license.
Earlier, the Motor Transport Department had announced that all moped bikes should be registered with the department by December 31, 2010.
