Tension at Cambridge Terrace as Sajith opposes Ravi appointment

A tense situation has erupted at the Opposition Leaders office in Cambridge Terrace, Ada Derana learns. Sources told Ada Derana that moves by the UNP leader Ranil Wickremasinghe to appoint Ravi Karunanayaka as the National Organiser of the party was met with strong oppostition.

 

It is reported that although Ranjith Madduma Bandara was nominated for the post, the UNP leader’s move to appoint Karunanayaka was vehemently opposed by newly appointed Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa.
