The National Transport Commission (NTC) has commenced inquiries regarding 125 buses for charging extra from passengers during the festive season. These measures were initiated following raids carried out by NTC officers and complaints received from the public, NTC Operations Director H.W. Vipulasena stated.

Complaints received from passengers accuse the bus conductors of overcharging, not providing with balance and also bad behavior, he said speaking to Ada Derana.

The Commission will be able to finish said inquiries within the next two weeks, Mr. Vipulasena added “In conclusion the permits of certain busses may even be revoked.”
