JFA gets patent rights for Sunbird Technology

Jude Fernandopulle Associates (Pvt.) Ltd. (JFA), the largest solar power hot-water systems supplier in Sri Lanka announced the authorization and license issued to the company dated June 18, 2011 as the sole producer and marketer of “Sunbird Technology”, the unique technological method of fabricating tubing within their units to give higher efficiency.

After 20 years of dedicated work the Sunbird Engineering Team have managed to achieve success with their cutting-edge technology as the development of embedded aluminium risers have proven to be more efficient and durable than the conventional copper panels when adapted with the complete patented technology.

JFA began its operations in 1989 with Tropical Homes, their flagship construction division which consequently became popular in the Negombo and Kochchikade areas. The popularity of Sunbird soon followed as a 100 percent locally manufactured product specifically developed and fine-tuned for Sri Lankan consumers while installation was done in accordance with international standards using locally sourced raw materials.

The Sunbird Unit also boasts a direct-cost advantage over electrical geysers as consumers can recover the cost of the unit within two years by saving on electricity bills. With a ten-year manufacturer’s warranty the unit requires little maintenance as there are no moving parts inside while it is supported by an optional built-in electrical backup booster in case of a reduction in the availability of light.

Sunbird Hotwater Systems come highly recommended by architects and planners due to its non-impact on the environment and has been recognized by the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects.

The product is also available island-wide through a network tied up with Abans.Ltd with after-sales services reaching areas such as Jaffna, Vavuniya, the East Coast, Tangalle, Galle, Kandy etc. while its mobile teams attend to sales, installations and other services throughout the island.
