Special traffic plan in view of Baratha Lakshman’s funeral

A special traffic plan is being implemented in the Kolonnawa area today (October 12) from 9 a.m. in view of the funeral ceremony of former Parliamentarian Baratha Lakshman Premachandra, Police stated.

 

The road leading to Dematagoda from the Kolonnawa junction as well as the road leading from Dematagoda to the Kolonnawa junction across the Sugunasara road will be closed while only vehicles travelling to the funeral house will be allowed to use these roads.

 

Vehicles travelling from the Gothatuwa area to Kolonnawa will be stopped at the Piriwena junction while only light vehicles will be allowed to travel along the right strip of the road towards Kolonnawa and Wellampitiya.

 

Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to travel on the road from Wellampitiya junction to Kolonnawa junction, police stated.

 

All heavy vehicles travelling towards Kolonnawa from Dematagoda will be turned left from the Petroleum Corporation junction onto the Colombo-Avissawella-Panara road.

 

This special traffic plan will continue until the funeral ceremony is over, police further added.
