Four year sentence for possession of hand grenade

The Colombo High Court today (March 14) sentenced a suspect who admitted to charges of possessing of a hand grenade, to four years rigorous imprisonment.

 

The suspect was arrested on December 27, 2006 in the Dehiwala area in possession of a hand grenade.

 

The suspect admitted to the charges against him as the court sentenced him to four years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs.10,000. An additional 12 month would be added to his sentence if he is unable to pay the fine.
