Funds allocated for Education by the govt. are minimal

Compared to other countries, Sri Lanka allocates a minimal amount of funds to Education while the current environment will only hamper development, UNP MP Buddhika Pathirana stated.

 

He said that even countries such as the US allocates around 5% of its Gross Domestic Product for education whereas Sri Lanka only allocates 1.8% of its GDP to education.
