The Indian all-party parliamentary delegation which is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka on Monday (April 16) has condemned Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s decision to withdraw her party’s representative from the delegation.

Indian parliament representative Sudarshan Nachchiyappan stated that the objective of the delegation was to observe the situation in Sri Lanka and report to the government which is why presenting various excuses to abstain from participating in the delegation was not acceptable.

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa stated that she will put forward a representative from her party to be a part of the delegation but changed her mind on Thursday (April 12) stating that the visit was nothing more than a tourist trip.
