Palitha Fernando appointed new AG

The Parliamentary Council has approved the appointment of Palitha Fernando as the new Attorney General, Member of the Council A.H.M. Asvar told Ada Derana a short while ago.
Former Attorney General Ms. Eva Wanasundara was sworn in as a justice of
the Supreme Court before President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees on July 5 which gave way for the appointment of Palitha Fernando, who was previously the Solicitor General, as the new Attorney General.
