32 houses damaged by strong winds

The Disaster Management Center (DMC) states that 32 houses were damaged from strong winds experienced in several parts on the island.

Bandarawela and Monaragala were the worst affected from the gushing winds that swept through the area, while 20 houses were reportedly partially damaged in the Badalgama area in Monaragala alone.

In addition to this, 3 homes in Gaminipura, Buttala and 9 homes in Welimada, Bandalawela were damaged due to strong wind conditions, Assistant Director of the DMC Pradeep Kodippili said.
