Vehicle plunges into Mahaweli River; 1 body recovered

A vehicle had fallen into the Mahaweli River today morning in the Polgolla area.

Police spokesman SP Ajith Rohana stated that one body has been recovered while the number of passengers inside the vehicle at the time of the accident is still unknown.

The deceased is said to be a 36-year-old male.

Police have also recovered the vehicle which had plunged into the river and are conducting further search operations.
