Dambulla Deputy Mayor remanded

The Deputy Mayor of the Dambulla Municipal Council and another person who were arrested on bribery charges were remanded until October 25 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate.
The suspects were arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs. 100,000 to award a contract for road development projects in the Dambulla area.
The Deputy Mayor and one of his aides were arrested on October 05 by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
