Private buses operating from Ampara on strike

All private buses operating from the Ampara town began strike action this morning (December 4) over the assault of a timekeeper at the Ampara bus depot.

 

The assault had taken place on the night of December 2 it has been reported and the Ampara private bus operators have gone on strike in protest of the inaction by the relevant authorities.

 

Bus operators claim that the police have not taken proper steps with regards to the incident and have not implemented the law in the proper manner.
