Spill gates opened due to heavy rain

Spill gates of Parakrama Samudraya, Kaudulla and Kanthale reservoirs have been opened due to rising water level following heavy rain, the Disaster Management Center (DMC) said. It also advised people living downstream to remain vigilant.
