VIDEO: Police bust fake money printing racket, 8 arrested

Eight persons including 2 women and 3 children were arrested after police raided a residence in the Poddala area in Galle after uncovering information regarding a counterfeit money printing operation.

The raid was carried out by a team of officers from the Poddala Police Station who also discovered 9 fake Rs 1000 notes, 8 fake Rs 500 noted, a computer and various other equipment used for printing the counterfeit currency.     

Six persons including two women and 3 children who were at the residence at the time of the operation were also taken into custody while 2 more suspects were nabbed following extensive investigations, police said.
