Indian national arrested with gold in his rectum

An Indian national was arrested by customs officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport today (September 14) while attempting to smuggle a gold biscuit worth more than Rs.1 million in his rectum.

The gold biscuit is worth an estimated Rs.1,360,000 while the 24 year old suspect was attempting to board the 6.30pm flight UL123 to India when he was apprehended, Customs Media Spokesman Leslie Gamini stated.

The gold biscuit weighed 272 grams, he added.
