Infant dies after three-wheeler topples, 3 injured

An infant was killed and another 3 persons injured after a three-wheeler lost control, veered off the road and toppled in the 4th milepost area on the Hanwella-Urapola road in Dompe.

Police said the passengers of the three-wheeler are residents of Deddeniya while the infant was only one month old.

Dompe Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.

Meanwhile in a separate accident an elderly woman died after being run over by a lorry in Dembarawewa, Tissamaharama.

The victim was a 88-year-old resident of Dembarawewa, police said.
