CPC to replace octane 90 with 92 from next year

Starting from the 1st of January 2014, octane 90 petrol will be replaced by octane 92 petrol and will be sold at the same price as octane 90, the Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) said.
The CPC has reportedly opted to import 92 Octane petrol instead of 90 Octane petrol, from January, as it is more environment friendly and also due to the lack of 90 Octane in the global market.
The new petrol will also be sold at the same price as 90 Octane petrol while government will incur additional costs in importing 92 Octane.
