Three Bandaranayake students arrested

Three students of Bandaranayake College in Gampaha have been arrested on charges of unlawful gathering and assaulting journalists, police said.

Two Grade 13 students and one Grade 12 student were arrested by Gampaha Police this morning, the Police Spokesman’s Office said.

A group of students from the school engaged in a protest on March 3 demanding the removal of the principal had damaged property within the school while several journalist who were covering the incident were also injured.
