115 Army Majors promoted to Lieutenant Colonel

A batch of 115 Army Majors have been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, coinciding with the Army Day and 65th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army (SLA).
The promotions have been accorded by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, as per the recommendations by the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake.
The Army 65th Anniversary and Army Day commemorative ceremonies in the year 2014 drew to a close on Saturday (11) afternoon at Panagoda Sri Bodhi Rajaramaya (Army temple) after an all-night Pirith chanting ceremony.
