Five persons found guilty in the murder of a resident of Beddagana in 2000 were sentenced to death by the Colombo High Court today.

Six suspects were charged with the murder, however the sentence was handed down to five of them as the other had already passed away.

The High Court sentenced the suspects to death as the charges filed against them by the Attorney General have been proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
