Woman dead, 22 injured in bus-tipper truck collision

A woman was killed and another 22 persons wounded following a traffic collision involving a SLTB bus and a tipper truck in the Sandunpura area on the Mahiyanganaya-Polonnaruwa main road.

Police said a 34-year-old woman from Mahiyanganaya died in the accident while another 11 women are said to be among the injured.

The drivers of both the bus and the tipper truck have also been admitted to the hospital.

Dehiattakandiya Police is conducting an investigation into the incident.
