UPFA Parliamentarian Sajin de Vass Gunawardena, who was arrested for allegedly misusing vehicles belonging to the President Secretariat Office, has been further remanded until September 8 by the Fort Magistrate’s Court, today (11).

A bail application, which was filed by a Counsel on behalf of former UPFA MP Gunawardena, was also dismissed by the Colombo High Court earlier.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) summoned Gunawardena to record a statement on May 11 where he was subsequently arrested.

Gunawardena was also on bail in a separate case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption for non-declaration of his assets.
