If Rohana Wijeweera who was once labeled as a terrorist can be commemorated here, why not slain LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran, Muslim Tamil National Alliance Leader Azath Salley questioned today (26).

The observation was made at a press conference held in Colombo.

“Remarks by former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa on how he managed to prevent the commemoration of “Heroes’ Day” indicates that he behaved like a Hitler,” Salley said.

He also went into say he further urges the government to release the suspects detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).

“Terrorists are terrorists, despite their race. But they should be treated as civilians if they give up on terrorism,” he added.
