Man sent to jail in Pakistan for smuggling turtles to Lanka

A special customs court in Pakistan has sent a man to prison on judicial remand for his alleged involvement in smuggling of rare turtles to Colombo.


The judge directed the Investigation Officer to submit challan of the case before the court on next hearing.


The Custom officials took the suspect from Lahore airport and recovered 22 turtles from his luggage. The IO told the judge that they had completed the investigation and further custody of the accused was not required. (The Nation)
