President visits US Navy’s USS Blue Ridge

President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Maithripala Sirisena visited “USS Blue Ridge”, in the port of Colombo today (28). 


The Sri Lankan President was warmly received onboard by the senior officer of the ship, the Chief of Staff of the US Navy’s 7th fleet, Vice Admiral Aucoin and of the Commanding Officer of “Blue Ridge”, Captain Kyle P. Higgins, the Navy said in a statement.


The Commander of the Sri Lankan Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, the U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka Atul Keshap, the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral, Jayantha De Silva and senior naval officers were also present on the occasion.
