President attends religious ceremonyin Ujjain

President Maithripala Sirisena took part in a Hindu religious ceremony in Ujjain district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh this morning (14).
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited Madhya Pradesh to attend the Simhastha Kumbh Mela. He took part in the closing ceremony of ‘Vaicharik mahakumbh’, where he addressed a gathering.
Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena, who is on India visit, accompanied Modi in Ujjain and took part in Vaicharik Mahakumbh.
“I want to bow in respect to all the saints and seers who are present here today. Kumbh mein samaaj ki disha tay hoti hai, ye puraani paramparaon mein se ek hai,” PM Modi said while addressing the Vaichaarik Mahakumbh.
Sri Lankan President Sirisena and Prime Minister Modi also released the ‘Simhastha Declaration’ at Ninora village in Ujjain.
