Sri Lankan arrested with drugs at Kuwait airport

A young Sri Lankan man was arrested at Kuwait International Airport for attempting to smuggle a piece of opium and three polythene bags containing a powder suspected to be drugs, into the country, reports Al-Rai daily. 

According to sources, when customs officers noticed the nervousness of the Sri Lankan passenger as he approached the inspection desk, they checked his luggage and found the illicit items. 

He was arrested and referred with the confiscated items to the General Department of Drug Control for necessary legal action, the Arab Times reported.
