Srilal Gomes passes away

Veteran Journalist and photo journalist Srilal Gomes has passed away at the age of 61.

He passed away at the Colombo National Hospital this morning following a long battle with cancer.

A product of the St. Sylvester’s college Kandy Sri Lal entered into the media industry in 1979 as a junior photographer for the “Isura” monthly magazine launched by the Mahawelia Ministry. 

He served as the official photographer of the late Gamini Dissanayake up until 1989 and later worked for Upali Newspapers.

The funeral will take place at the Sapugaskanda Roman Catholic Cemetery on Saturday (13).
