Missing trade union activist found in Ingiriya

The trade union activist, who was reported missing for the past three days due to allegedly being abducted by a group of individual, has been discovered after he was dropped off by a van in the Ingiriya area.

The activist had in question had visited the Ingiriya Police Station and filed a complaint that he had been abducted, police said. 

The victim, who is a Convenor of a trade union, claims he was abducted in the Maharagama area.

Following preliminary inquiries, he was handed over to Piliyandala Police for further investigations. 

Piliyandala Police had recorded a statement from him today (1). 

The All Island Telecom Services Union (AITSU) had said that the activist was missing since January 28.
