Athurugiriya shooting incident: woman arrested

The police have made an arrest in connect to the murder of an individual in Athurugiriya occurred on 17 January.

A woman believed to be involved in the crime was arrested last evening (06) by the Mirihana Police Special Crimes Investigation Unit, police said.

The police investigation in this regard was launched after an unidentified suspect had opened fire at the victim inside a salon. The deceased is said to be an accused in a murder case who had been evading police, it was reported.

The arrested woman, 41, will be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate today.
