Elephant tusks seized from house of a Basnayaka Nilame in Kandy

The wildlife officials on Monday seized a pair of elephant tusks from the residence of Basnayaka Nilame of the historic Sri Katharagama Devalaya in Kandy, Gemunu Bandara Walisundara, Ada Derana reporter said.


The pair of elephant tusks were produced before the Kandy Magistrate, this afternoon.


The case will be taken up for hearing again on 27 March.
