Program to start installing Solar panel in houses - Ranjith

Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya stated that a program to install solar panels in houses will be put into place soon. 

He added that around 25MW could be harnessed due to the dry weather conditions the country has experienced. 


Siyambalapitiya added that a circular will be issued requesting the temperature of air conditioning systems to not exceed 26 degrees Celsius. 


He stated that Implementation of the program was to encourage people to use electricity sparingly.
