All night mail trains cancelled today

All night mail trains scheduled from Colombo and other destinations have been cancelled today (5), Sri Lanka Railways said.

The trains have been cancelled due to the strike action launched today by locomotive drivers and guards against the curtailing of pensions and several other issues. 

The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) and several trade unions including the education and transport sectors are engaging in trade unpin action today over the SAITM issue.
