Police kill robbery suspect in Warakapola

The police killed a robbery suspect as he was trying to rob a store at Warakapola town on Monday morning.


According to police, the suspect who sustained life threatening injuries following the shooting had succumbed to injuries upon his admission to the Warakapola hospital.


A police patrolling unit had arrived at the store following a call made to the emergency number, and the cops had reportedly opened fire at the suspect at the scene.


The post-mortem of the suspect will be conducted at the Warakapola base hospital today.
