Special arrangement for garbage disposal in Kandy

A special course of action has been implemented by the Kandy Municipal Council, to effectively dispose of all garbage collected during the Esala Perahera ceremony. 

The Municiapal Commissioner Chandana Tennakoon stated that this implementation program was carried throughout the duration of the perahera festivities. 

He also mentioned that, despite their best efforts the devotees who journeyed to Kandy to witness the ceremony had disposed of garbage in an improper manner. This prompted the Municipal Council to implement a special plan to dispose of all the residual waste.
