Fire at Pakistani footwear factory in Panagoda

A Pakistani footwear factory in Panagoda, Homagama had unexpectedly caught fire last night.

The Police Media Spokesperson’s Office reported that the fire had occurred at approximately 11.00 pm yesterday (29).

No casualties have been reported. The property damage is yet to be assessed.

The fire had been completely extinguished by the Athurugiriya Police, officers of the Panagoda Army Cap, Fire Fighting Unit of Colombo, and Homagama Ceylon Electricity Board members, together with the help of the local residents.

Athurugiriya Police are  conducting further investigations into the incident.
