Arjuna speaks out to curb sporting politics within Sri Lanka

Minister of Petroleum Resource Development Arujna Ranatunga wrote a letter to Minister Dayasiri jayasekara requesting him to identify and apprehend the individuals involved in manipulating the outcome of sports contests within the country. 

Accordingly Arjuna Ranatunga requested the Sports Minister to bring to justice, the persons involved in influencing the results of the competitions held by the Kalutara Bodybuilding society and the Panadura Sports Society. 

In his letter, the former Cricket captain points out that a massive match-fixing scandal has clouded the sporting community of Panadura and Kalutara making it a toxic arena for potential contestants. 

Arjuna Ranatunga stated that the athletes, coaches and organizational officials involved in the scandal should all be brought to justice.
