‘Blue-Green Enterprise Sri Lanka’ theme for 2018 Budget

Minister of Finance of Media commenced his 2018 Budget speech by declaring the theme for the 2018 Budget as “Blue-Green Enterprise Sri Lanka” making the proposed Bill focused on industry and economic progress.
The Minister commenced his address at 3.05pm citing the great potential the Sri Lankan economy has to grow within the next few years. He stated that Sri Lanka can develop into a middle income earning country by the year 2025, should the country experience rapid economic progress.
He further went on to state that major reforms of legislature similar to the Inland Revenue Act are required to bolster the Lankan economy. It was also mentioned that Bankruptcy laws need to be made more efficient.
